Hi David.
That seems like a lot of prep work to get a cup of coffee!
My understanding was that your nose loses its ability to distinguish between scents after sniffing a couple times, so it was interesting to see him smell several and say he could detect differences in aroma.
Well, wasn't that "blooming" interesting(?)....a tad obsessive, but interesting. He spoke of not wanting to burn his palate, when its his nose he might want to be careful with! If you ever have a coffee cupping party,(which I seriously doubt since I only ever HEAR about these coffees of yours...ahem...)I'll trust you'll "back away from the Sumatra" (which would be my choice) with that nose of yours!
